Poll: IHTtS Office-Friendly Blog Layout

As you know, Dear Reader, I currently have an orange-on-black layout for this blog. Scary Booster recently did an interview with the legendary Tobold, wherein Tobold told him many people may not read his blog from their workplace because his blog layout screamed "NOT WORK RELATED." I am wondering the same thing now about my own layout. I have my reasons for creating the current layout, but I am not married to it.
What do you think? Should I change it to a more neutral color scheme so as be more office-friendly? Please take the time to vote in the poll at the top right. It will close on Saturday.

Thanks.

  1. I do think the black with orange lettering is a little strain on my eyes on my iPhone. I used to have a black and orange theme in when I read it out of mobile theme, I noticed how gard it was to read. That's my 2¢

  2. Doesn't bother me, I'm in a cube at the back of the office so I don't have to worry about bosses coming by.

  3. Damn, Kae gets the prime location in the office. I never have such luck, my workspaces have always been in full view of everyone. I'm glad I work for myself from home now.

That said, if there's such thing as "blog feng shui", I'm thinking having a lighter background might "open up" the blog a bit more.

  4. I'm not generally concerned either; if I can get to a site, it's OK. But it does seem that the change crowd outnumbers the keep-it crowd. I'll wait 'til Saturday to get a final tally. VOTE PEOPLE! I know you're out there.

  5. I can't read blogs at work, seeing as I don't have a desk job. So whatever you decide won't deter me from your blog...unless you make a really obnoxious template :)

  6. I'm surprised that Tobold's blog isn't considered worky enough. I mean, it looks pretty spiffy.

I'm used to your orange-on-black. I'd be a little sad to see it go, but I've changed up the look and layout of my blog four times in the past year.

  7. It was Scary's that was not worky enough. I can't get get to either from here, but IIRC Tobold's is pretty neutral.

I'll miss it, too. But you've read the readability comments, plus the voting has leaned toward readability, as well, as opposed to non-work-friendly issues.

  8. I'll vote for white. Like BK, I'm secluded, so it don't make no nevermind to me personally, but I think it's a good idea to slap a sheen of cube camo on it for those who aren't as fortunate.
