One problem with leveling every time you complete a STO mission is that the dialogue box is huge and can't be moved off the screen, not even a portion of it. So I've been missing my own Glow. Luckily for Sctrz, she turned in a mission while I was tooling around, and I managed to capture this shot of her Warbird, the Calamity, as her Rommy Commander, Kerina achieved level 8 (IIRC).
Niiiiiccceee.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, I've been getting "the glow" quite frequently, and usually with a mission turn-in, so I've had the same problem.
Yeah, the leveling rate, at least for Romulans, seems designed to get you to the Fed/KDF choice a.s.a.p. Are they figuring more people are coming back for the expansion than are brand new to the game?
DeleteWell, from my experience the leveling rate doesn't slow down. I also assume that they expect new players to come in for this expansion, not to mention old players that dropped them years ago (cough me cough). I think the high experience rate is designed to make up for the dearth of other obvious leveling options; fleet actions are hidden and patrol missions have become one-off affairs. Heck, there aren't even data samples lying around the new missions!
DeleteHmm, when I snap screenies in STO, the game automatically gets rid of my UI so when I look at the final pics they are blessedly HUD and dialogue window free. Is the "glow" considered a part of the UI and won't show up either? Guess I should test this.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know this about the in-game screen caps! I use FRAPS, and thus must live with the HUD.
DeleteAH, check your Cryptic folder for screenshots, assuming you've been using "print screen."
DeleteYes, the UI disappears. That's how I got the pics in this and the last post. I did take pics of my leveling to 10/Centurian last night. I'll post them this evening, probably.
